Daddy's shoes

I think most toddlers probably like to play with their parents shoes. Alison likes to play with our shoes. :)

Saying hello to Daddy

We took a trip to see Auntie Corrine in Fayetteville, AR the weekend of Corrine's baby shower which was the last weekend in October. I realize this post is long overdue! Alison wanted to call her daddy to say hello.

We have some pics from this past weekend when we traveled to meet baby Kosse. Will be back to update again soon(er) or later! :)

More of Alison's photography skills at work

(The previous post provides explanation...)

I absolutely love the pic below. It makes me laugh everytime I see it. :)

The next two are actually really good. Almost as if Alison knew what she was doing!

Then it was time to go inside. One last picture by Alison for the road.

Moving boxes can be fun

We now have nursery furniture for baby to be. By the way, we have decided on the name Amelia. We had quite the time figuring it out but we are happy to know now! So Grandpa came over with his pickup to help us pick up the furniture and load and unload and carry into Amelia's room. Then afterwards, we had tons of boxes and packing materials in our garage. Alison enjoyed climbing on them, in them, and tossing around the Styrofoam and other packaging. First I decided to take some pictures of the boxes and of Alison playing and helping with the boxes. So I get the camera out but of course Alison wants the camera! (She says, "up, up!" when she wants something or when she wants to be picked up.)

This is Alison's photography skills at work. (And her beautiful little fingers.) She is inside a big box that is on its side. I am thinking about getting the camera back to take a pic of her in the box. :)

Alison insists on practicing her photography some more.

Box, trash bag, and fingers. This could be considered art, right?

A 16 month old's point of view...

Now Alison decides to move on to a couple bottles of craft paint (her "Da-dee" uses on his RC car bodies) and is interested in helping push the boxes to the curb for trash day.

She is such a good helper.

Time to climb up here...

...and check out how I can walk around on the box...

I asked Alison to smile for the camera. :)

Back to get more boxes (and or climb on them).

And back to the edge of the driveway to sit on the box and make a face at "Momma".

Corrine's birthday in Fayetteville

Alison and I took a trip to Fayetteville, AR to help celebrate Corrine's birthday the weekend of July 31st. We went to Botannical Gardens one morning and enjoyed visiting the 9 gardens they have there. Alison's favorite garden was the Children's Garden.

Our famous faces picture....

There were so many pretty flowers and so many butterflies. Corrine and I wondered how people would be able to make wonderful gardens like these in their own backyard.

Alison definitely showed of her love of independence. She enjoyed walking, crawling, and running around everywhere that she could.

Alison loved the tree the sound of her voice as she talked and her voice echoed.

A couple trips through the tunnel.... Peek a boo is just as fun at the end of a tunnel.

A look at the chickens before we leave....

Chillin' with Auntie Corrine.

We're both showing off our pregnant bodies!

Glimpses of the Disney World Vacation

We took a Disney Magic Express (or something like that) bus from the airport into the Disney World parks. This is when we made our grand entance on the roadway. We stayed at a resort called Saratoga Springs and within that, the Treehouse Villas. They were made to look like a treehouse in a wooded area. Accomodating all 9 of us; they were just right. :)

Sometimes we would take a boat to the main resort or to Downtown Disney. Alison snuggling with Aunt Kelly on the boat the first night.

This is where we enjoyed dinner the first night (located in Downtown Disney).

The next day we explored Magic Kingdom. We tried to meet as many characters as we could. Anna had a neat book special for collecting all of the autographs of different characters she met along the way.

The classic Dumbo ride. We could actually catch a little bit of a breeze when we were up higher and spinning in a circle. Well, it was very hot and any relief was very welcomed.

And Alison enjoyed flying. She was a pro at moving the knob control around.

The next day we went back to Magic Kindom to explore some more and to have Anna's princess birthday party in the Castle. We also lined up early to meet Rapunzel. The children colored a picture and then danced with Rapunzel too before meeting her close up.

Alison might have liked meeting Rapunzel's friend Pascal just as much or more. :)

Anna meeting Cinderella before breakfast.

During our princess birthday breakfast feast, most all of the princesses came by our table to meet us and especially for our birtday girl, Anna. :) Here's Snow White.... Others were Sleeping Beauty or Arora (which I didn't really know or remember that was her name until this trip), Ariel, Belle. I think that is everyone counting Cinderella in the beginning. Jasmine and Pocahontis are considered Disney princesses as well.

I even decided to meet Mary Poppins. :)

We thought of Levi as we walked by a miniature train and village. We took several pictures to show him sometime! ;) This was at Epcott. The day in between (the second day at) Magic Kingdom, we had a splashin' good time at Typhoon Lagoon. And the day after Epcott, we went to the other waterpark called Blizzard Beach. Unfortunately, we must have forgotten our camera those days...plus we were mostly wet most of the time. But they were fun days as well and it was refreshing to splash around in the water.

There was a lady working in a shop at Epcott who really took a liking to Alison. She was playing music and wanted to dance with Alison. She dressed her in a fancy wrap and a beaded head covering. Alison just liked playing with the head-dresses and skirt that jingled. But she is a good dancer too. ;)

We went to Animal Kingdom on Friday. We took pictures on the bumpy safari ride. We helped find and "save" this baby elephant on the journey.

We stirred the Rhinos....

There is a lion resting on the rock...

We took a break to watch a bird show. I really enjoyed seeing all of the different birds. Of course the bald eagle is always impressive. Look at those awesome wings. We learned that they are off of the endangered species list.

The petting zoo was closed at the time we visited it because of lightning and an approaching storm.

Alison still enjoyed looking at the animals from afar. They mostly stayed under the shelter. But one goat did wander over to Alison and she was excited to touch the goat.

We ate at the Rainforest Cafe that night (and of course it was actually raining outside).

We went to Disney Hollywood Studios the next day. Alison enjoyed the play area of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" play set. She especially loves caves and tunnels. She also enjoyed some of the slides there.

Even Alison's mommy crawled through a tunnel after her. :)

"Riding" on the ant. Or at least maybe that's an ant. Alison is really into climbing lately and she enjoyed being up high. :)

Meeting Mickey Mouse.

Packing to return to MO. I guess we can't live forever in Disney World. But it was fun while it lasted.

Hugs and kisses until we meet again.
